If you are trying to lose weight, then I'm going to ask you to try something. Forget everything that you've been told about losing weight or dieting and throw it all out the window. Let's start from scratch and create a program that will help you achieve your goals without any guesswork, overworking yourself, or starving yourself. We are going to focus on three categories: your actual workouts, your diet, and your lifestyle. Using a combination of changes in these three categories, we will create a workout and a pattern that will help you lose weight permanently so that you don't have to worry about fad diets ever again. The key is in repetition and discipline, not in trying new things as they come along.
Next, rather than worrying about a specific diet or trying to starve yourself, try eating 3-5 small meals per day. My favorite method is to eat a regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then supplement meals with fruits, vegetables, or protein shakes. This will keep your metabolism burning like a furnace throughout the day and you'll stay out of starvation mode. This means that rather than keep the fat in those hard to lose areas, your body will turn to fat as a fuel source. Eating healthy meals several times per day is one of the most important things that you can do to facilitate weight loss.
Lastly, you need to make a few lifestyle changes. Rather than skipping breakfast or eating late night meals, make sure that you start every day with a healthy breakfast full of carbohydrates and eat your last snack or meal before 9 O'clock. This will ensure that all of your food gets processed during the day so that it doesn't sit and turn into fat. Also, consider giving up unhealthy habits like smoking or drinking.
Losing weight isn't difficult, but you need to find a plan and stick to it. Don't deviate, even if it seems like it isn't working. Patience and discipline in sticking to a method will pay off over time, and as you lose weight slowly you'll realize that it has a much greater chance of staying off. Losing weight quickly is usually a recipe for gaining it back. Taking the long and slow road will help you create a permanent change in the way you look.
